Université Libre de BRUXELLES
A graduate of the Brussels Ecole Polytechnique in 2005, I was hired by ORESYS in October of the same year.
Being naturally curious and interested in everything, I was looking for a job that would give me the chance to learn about a variety of professional sectors and fields. Unlike some consultancy firms, which hire people according to the profile they require for a particular type of assignment, ORESYS offered me exactly what I wanted: varied assignments with no pre-requisites. As soon as I arrived, I began working on a long-term assignment involving the training and rollout of a new cashier system for the U stores, as well as shorter-term assignments also for Système U and for the Ministry of Health. From speaking to my colleagues, I can confirm that the assignments a consultant may be called to work on are very diverse in nature.
At my initial interview, I was asked whether I was sure I wanted to work outside my native country (Belgium). The chance to work abroad was an adventure for me, and I saw the opportunity to learn about another culture, even though very similar to my own. In addition, ORESYS is an international company, as it has offices in Brussels and works in partnership with foreign companies, which makes it even more interesting in an increasingly European society. So I went to Paris to attend the recruitment interviews, for which I received a rapid response each time, and two months later, after I had already started working for the company, I moved there.
What do I like about ORESYS? It’s a small organisation, in which everyone is treated equally. The new recruits are supervised by their coach, who monitors them throughout their career, and they are quickly integrated into the team. The average age is young, which makes it even easier to make contacts. For these reasons I immediately felt at home in ORESYS, which made it much easier for me to settle into this new country!
