Your concern is to give to your sponsor tangible results in the form of deliveries, which match with his expectations and are made of good quality.
Your role of project leader is not systematically to pilot the operational divisions activities. It must be mainly to make sure the project is realized within the costs, deadlines and results you have forecast together.
To resolve these kinds of challenges, the ORESYS Methodology is based on the relation between projects milestones (project appointment dates) and deliveries (expected operational results). The ORESYS Methodology takes into account this relation between milestones / deliveries on the different levels of the company:

Business milestones: they are preferential dates to communicate about the progress of your project with your clients and sponsors. Major deliveries are linked to these milestones.
- Project milestones: these milestones will establish gathering points between all the operational divisions contributing to your project. They will help to set the pace of the project. Deliveries of the critical path are associated to these milestones.
- Operational deliveries : every delivery is produced by an operational division, To be provided for a Business or Project milestone deadline, To be consumed by another operational division useful to produce à synthesis delivery
Business and Projects milestones will only be moved for exceptional reasons. If operational deliveries expected to a milestone are not produced at the deadline, the milestone will be passed « with reserves ». To remove those « reserves » a policy will be defined, and you will have to respect and follow it as the project leader.
